These terms apply when you use this website, www.ssia.au. By using the website, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the website.
Who we are
This website is operated by Self Storage Insurance Australia (SSIA). In these terms, "SSIA", "we", "us" and "our" mean Self Storage Insurance Australia.
Self Storage Insurance Australia (SSIA) operates under the authorisation of Connect Business Pty Ltd (ABN 59 612 031 964), Corporate Authorised Representative No. 1241963, an Authorised Representative of Community Broker Network Pty Ltd.
Our licence and issuer details are on our About SSIA page. Please read the Financial Services Guide, linked in the footer of every page.
SSIA arranges insurance. We are not an insurer, and we don't issue the policies we arrange. The issuer and the insurer of each product are named in its Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) or policy documents.
General advice only
The information on this website is general advice only. It has been prepared without taking into account your objectives, financial situation or needs, and it is not personal advice. Before acting on it, consider whether it is appropriate for you, having regard to your objectives, financial situation and needs.
Before deciding whether to buy SSIA Storage Insurance (Goods in Storage), read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) (PDF, opens in a new tab) and consider the Target Market Determination (TMD) (PDF, opens in a new tab), both available on this website. For other products, such as facility business insurance, the PDS and TMD or the policy wording that applies are provided with your quote. Read them before you decide whether to buy. Cover is subject to the policy's terms, conditions, limits and exclusions, and to acceptance by the insurer.
Accuracy of information
We take reasonable care to make sure the information on this website is accurate and up to date when we publish it. Products, documents and laws change, so we can't guarantee that every page is complete, accurate and current when you read it.
If anything on this website differs from the PDS, the policy wording or your policy schedule, those documents apply to your cover. If you think something here is wrong or out of date, please tell us at storesafe@ssia.au.
Quotes, applications and policies
These terms cover your use of the website only. They don't form part of, or change, any quote, application or insurance policy.
Each quote and policy is governed by its own documents, such as the PDS, the policy wording, your policy schedule and any terms shown when you get a quote or apply.
Sending us an email or an application form does not by itself put cover in place.
Third-party websites and tools
Some parts of this website take you to services provided by other organisations.
- The SSIA portal. The "Get A Quote (Goods in Storage)", "Login" and facility approval links open the SSIA portal at myportal.insure, operated by a third-party insurance platform provider. Any terms and privacy information shown in the portal apply when you use it.
- The business insurance application. The application form on our Apply for business insurance page is provided by Jotform, an online form service. We use Jotform to receive your application. What you enter is sent through Jotform's service, not through this website. The collection notice on that page, just above the form, the notices and declaration inside the form, and our privacy policy explain how your information is handled. Jotform also has its own terms and privacy policy for its service.
- Documents from other organisations. The PDS and TMD for SSIA Storage Insurance name its issuer. The footer also links to policies published by our licensee, the issuer and others.
- Other websites. We don't control other websites we link to, such as the Australian Financial Complaints Authority, and aren't responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link isn't an endorsement.
Using our content
Content on this website, including its text, images and design, may be protected by copyright. Unless we say otherwise, the rights in it belong to SSIA or to the people and organisations who supplied it.
You may view, print and download pages and documents for your own use, including to share with someone who is helping you decide about insurance. You may also share links to any page. For any other use, such as copying, republishing, selling or changing our content, please ask us in writing first, unless the law allows that use without permission.
The SSIA name and logo identify our business. Please don't use them, or anything similar, in a way that suggests a connection with us or our approval, unless we have given you written permission. Other organisations' names, logos and documents belong to those organisations.
Acceptable use
When you use this website, you must not:
- use it for anything unlawful, misleading or fraudulent;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the website, its systems or anyone else's information;
- introduce viruses or other harmful code, or do anything that could damage, disable or overload the website;
- use automated tools to copy large amounts of content, other than search engines and similar services that follow the crawling rules we publish (our robots.txt file);
- give false information in an enquiry or application, or someone else's information without their permission;
- pretend to be someone else, or suggest that you act for SSIA when you don't.
We may limit or block access to the website if we reasonably believe someone is breaching these terms.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001 (Cth) or any other law that can't be excluded. This includes any consumer guarantees that apply, and the warranties the ASIC Act implies into financial services we supply to you, such as that they will be provided with due care and skill.
Subject to those rights, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage caused by:
- the website being unavailable or interrupted;
- viruses or other harmful code that we could not reasonably have prevented;
- the content, availability or practices of other websites we link to.
This section does not limit liability for loss caused by our own negligence, or any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information, including information from enquiries and the business insurance application. It also explains the analytics tools this website uses. Google Analytics uses cookies, and the privacy policy explains how to opt out. Ahrefs Web Analytics doesn't use cookies, and Ahrefs says it doesn't collect personal data by default.
The footer also links to our licensee's Privacy Policy and to the AU Privacy Policy of the issuer of SSIA Storage Insurance. They explain how those organisations handle personal information. Please read them too if you get a quote or buy a policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we change the website or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated, and changes apply only to your use of the website from that date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws in force in Australia. You and we may take any dispute about them to any Australian court that can hear it.
If a court finds that part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest of the terms still apply.
